Meeting Minutes from 2/5/08

1)   Attendance: Todd Morgan, John Houtenbrink, Jody Rose, Nate Snyder, Paula Summitt, Mike Simon, Steve Lippiani, Joel Roemer, others

2)   Old Business

a)     Reviewed Financial Report provided by Terry Cotton

i)     Lost $248.00 on the Hall of Fame dinner, better than expected.

ii)     Current balance is $8,384.00

3)    New Business

a)    Youth Festival

i)     U-13 National Festival: June 13-15 @ Lebanon Sports Complex, Warren County, Ohio.

ii)    U-15 National Festival: June 20-22 @ Golden Goal  Lacrosse Complex, Lake George, NY.

iii)   Tryouts for Youth Festival teams to be at Total Sports Experience Sunday, April 27 from 1:00 – 4:00.

(1)  Girls register @ 12:30 and tryout from 1:00 – 2:30.

(2)  Boys register @ 2:00 and tryout from 2:30 – 4:00.

iv)   Advertise tryouts through D&C, Fingerlakes Times, Messenger Post, JustLacrosse.com, TSE.

v)    Check with Gene Peluso to see if he can get pinneys through Riddell.

vi)   Coaches: U-13 Boys     Steve Lippiani, Joel Roemer

U-15 Boys     Jim Paris

i)     Fall Event with colleges

iv)   Women’s coach’s clinic.

v)    Level 1 coaching certification

vi)   Cornell based clinic- done last year in conjunction with Irondequoit

vii) Skills Combine for Juniors and Seniors

b)    Senior All-Star Game

i)     Go back to being a true all-star format.

ii)    Hold 1 boy’s game and 1 girl’s game on the same night

iii)   Who is responsible for insurance and liability?

iv)   Advertising- need a major sponsor.

v)    Look into making this an “Eddie Meath” type of event.

vi)   Look at doing in conjunction with a Rattlers game.

vii) Section V looking into their continued involvement, their next meeting is 2/21/08.

c)    Coaches Convention

i)      Todd Morgan attended and spoke to other chapters about HOF nominations- most induct active coaches.

(1)  Linda Michelle, Rich Curtis and Heidi Rothfuss potential inductees on women’s side.

ii)    Buffalo is under new leadership with Pat Lalley.

iii)   George Leveille has been put in a position to help chapters increase $$

iv)   There is a push for education a increasing involvment in the Women’s side.

v)    National recognizes the need to grow leadership and share information

vi)   Next year the National Convention will have break out sessions on topics like; increasing membership, fundraising, and transfer of power (succession).
